Does this only work for eBay photos?
No. It is the same root cleanup tool, but this page starts from eBay-oriented defaults and copy.
Can I still export PNG or JPG here?
Yes. The same export controls remain available inside the tool after the default setup loads.
Does the file stay local?
Yes. Cleanup, preview, and export stay in the browser, and the saved file is rebuilt from canvas so common metadata is stripped on save.
What size should eBay photos be?
At least 500 pixels on the longest side, and 1600 pixels recommended so zoom and enlarge work. The 1600 x 1600 square canvas this page opens on hits the recommendation.
Does eBay allow edited backgrounds?
Cleaning or replacing a background is fine. What eBay's picture policy prohibits is added borders, text and artwork on the photo, plus watermarks that promote a website, price or contact details. A plain cutout on a plain fill is safe.
Should the background be white?
eBay recommends a plain, uncluttered background and presents its gallery on white, so a white fill sits most naturally. Neutral is fine too. What eBay actually cares about is that the item is clearly visible and accurately represented.
Should I clean up photos of a used item?
Clean the background, not the item. Editing out wear, scratches or damage is the fastest route to a not-as-described case, and eBay's policy expects photos to accurately represent the item's condition.
Where does the processing happen?
In your browser. The MODNet model runs in a web worker with WebGPU or WebAssembly, and the framing stage draws on a canvas. Nothing is uploaded.
