About this m4a to flac converter
M4A is AAC audio in an MP4 container, the default for iPhone recordings, iTunes and Apple Music downloads. FLAC is lossless compression: the exact audio of a WAV in roughly half the space, favoured for archiving and hi-fi. The conversion runs in your browser with ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device and there is no size limit beyond your memory. FLAC is lossless, so the result sounds exactly like the M4A, no better: quality lost when the M4A was made cannot come back. Use FLAC when an editor or device needs it.
