How to use Hex Calculator

What the tool does, how to run it, and what to expect from the result.

About this hex calculator

Hexadecimal uses sixteen digits, 0-9 and A-F, so each hex digit is exactly four bits and a byte is two digits. FF + 1A = 119 (255 + 26 = 281). Type values with or without the 0x prefix, in upper or lower case. Results appear in hex, binary (grouped in nibbles), decimal and octal; AND, OR and XOR are handy for masks and flags: 0xF0 AND 0x3C = 0x30.

FAQ

Common questions

Short answers for the questions people usually have before trying a utility like this.

How do I add hex numbers by hand?

Add digit by digit from the right; when a column reaches 16 or more, write the remainder and carry 1. F + 1 = 10 in hex.

Is there a size limit?

No. The calculator uses exact big integers, so 128-bit addresses or hashes work without rounding.
